A Kite's Wisdom
This poem is a reflection of the conversations I had with my father about the glorious past we had as a family. He was a successful officer and entrepreneur, and my mother was a Lawyer, excellent at ensuring wonderful and cheerful relationships with everyone. At some point, after she passed away, there was a new conundrum in relationships that became a learning curve for my family simultaneously while processing the grief of my Mother's loss. But like every life experience, there is a silver lining in this scenario, one which propelled our lives on a positive trajectory. I tried to summarize these scenarios in discussion with a Kite as Uttarayan or Makar Sankranti is one of my and my Mother's favorite festivals.
A Kite's WisdomⒸ
The flying kite in the mighty blue sky,
Whispers in my ears very slowly
As the blowing wind tries to sway it by
It says, time stops for no one!
Once we had people around to celebrate
We laughed, broke bread same meal we ate
But then I was successful and a knight
While we celebrate, the life clock was quite
When the time ran out and I not a knight
I stood alone on my terrace flying that kite
Still, people found another knight to cheer
The kite said time waits for no one dear!
So what should I do I asked the wise kite?
Did my success bring me around people
Or was I always alone despite on the steeple?
Or focused too much on the height, not the flight
It said, none of those matter, crazy as it sound
A special one was always holding me from the ground
Helping me navigate the winds tugging while air bound
That special one is your anchor and strength, oh compeer!
As we all know that time stops for no one my dear!
